Nordic Business Report - Finnair to switch to electronic tickets on domestic flights
NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-9 July 2002-Finnair to switch to electronic tickets on domestic flights (C)1994-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
Finnair, the Finnish airline, is to switch to electronic tickets on domestic flights from 15 July.
The airline has said that it will primarily sell electronic tickets for the flights after providing e-tickets as an alternative to conventional tickets for almost two years. The ticket will be in the airline computer and the customer will be given a travel plan by mail, e-mail or fax. It will still be possible to have a conventional ticket after 15 July, but the paper ticket will cost an extra EUR10 and there will also be a value added tax charge of EUR0.80, reported STT-FNB, a Finnish news service.
The travellers will be identified by personal identification, a Finnair Plus card or a credit card.
